I think you'll find a suspension upgrade just for sealed road usage is going to be a waste of money as the ride will more than likely be a lot stiffer.

If your chasing a ride similar to a road vehicle the OME BF-51s will give you that but will also come at a cost.

To add to this question, I don't understand how the headlight auto leveling system works on the SR5. What triggers the need for a "headlight leveling bracket" adjustment mount ??? If I try for a lift of 40-50mm front and 25mm rear, do I need to worry about the headlight leveling adjustment?

Thanks

I don't know about other brands but ome has an adjustable bracket to suit each of their 3 spring sizes.

Does the bracket seem to change the angle that the sensor sits on the chassis rail, or some other purpose ?

It changes the length of the sensor arm.

Hey everyone, new to the site here. I have a 2015 Dual Cab SR5 HiLux. Goig to be getting a 2" lift very soon and leaning towards Bilstein struts with CalOffRoad coils and Dobinsons rear leaf springs. Can anyone give me some feedback on any of the above, or any otger recommendations? Setting the ute up for touring, and light to medium 4x4. Thanks

I highly recommend Ultimate suspension, I just bought my 2nd full kit from them.

This time I got extra heavy duty rear leafs, these are amazing, they are as comfortable as factory leafs but can handle a load, I have had a 990kg box onboard and although overloaded and being very careful, it all felt safe and handled it well.

Everything else I got the same as last time, why change a good thing, Im a very happy return customer.

Thanks for the reply aandy. I have heard good things about Ultimate Suspension, so will look more into those as well. Did you get heavy duty for the front coil springs as well?

Not really sure I only specified the rear springs, for everything else I let Ultimate do their thing, can you get your car to them? My car has a bull bar, winch, batteries, rock sliders etc.. so I imagine they would have been pretty heavy springs.
Give them a ring, very user friendly people.

I beheld the TRD PRO shock absorbers for tacoma 2015 manufactured by FOX, it appears to be the same 2.5 " custom but with the TRD colors.
Can anyone tell me what the damper length of the hilux 2016?

Compressed length and Extended length and Travel.

Thanks

Fox australia do a nice front strut spring combo and rear shocks for the gen 8.

I too have ultimate installed. Very highly reccommended. Rides great on the road now. Better then standard. I have yet to get it offroad.

Yes, I fitted a Caloffroad 4" Bilsten kit along with UCA's, diff drop and adjustable ball joints. So bitterly disappointed with the service and after sales support from them with the issues I am having. The front of the car is sitting 20mm higher than the rear and is as hard as a rock, the front is sitting at 640mm and they said it shouldn't be above 600mm. They told me to fit a winch to bring it down. The wheel alignment cannot be corrected as the adjustable ball joints rub on the springs and have split the ball joint boots. The thought they might have put the wrong springs when they did the assembly of the struts but have simply said change the spring height to another groove. I really hate having to argue this point with them and even trying to get them interested to talk. I personally do not recommend them at the moment but am trying to work through the issues so depending how that goes my opinion may change.

I have decided to book my car in with Heasmans located in Sydney. They have a great reputation and offer great service and are full of knowledge. Going to go with Bilstein struts front and rear, repack the standard Toyota leafs for a 2 inch lift. Still undecided on what brand coils to go with, so will get a bit more advice. I have hears that progressive taperes coils tend to sag quicker then your normal coil springs. Can anyone confirm this? It would be good to get other peoples opinions.
