Just picked up an EFS elite comfort kit and will fit it on the weekend. Even Comes with an adjustable bracket for the light doohickey on the leaf spring.
I got the lightest springs they had so will see how it drives next week

Kit was/is advertised (wrongly as it turns out) as fitting n80. Bought it from a company in the US.

Fitted an efs comfort kit today and the front seems to have gone up heaps. Rang the guy and they have given me a 70-100kg front springs but I have no front bar. Forgot to measure before I fitted the front but from what I've read it looks like it has gone up about 75-80mm or 830mm from the bottom of an 18 rim to the guard.
What is the stock measurement for a SR5 on the front?
I think I should have got up to 60kg fronts now I'm worried about the cv angles

Already had, don't really expect to drop another 40mm even when it settles
I'll See if they will swap the springs which means wrestling the struts out again...joy

My stock for front was 765 bottom of stock 18s to bottom of front guard if that helps. Let it settle for a day or two. May well settle 10mm and be a 55mm lift.

So got the lighter EFS front spring installed, much better. Just Over 40mm lift and cv's at a better angle.
Ride is just about factory slightly firmer in the rear but seems more progressive on the bigger bumps.
Only thing I noticed is I have installed one strut with the step down for the lower part of the coil to the front and the other to the rear. Efs says both to the rear, is this just for sway bar clearance? It probably has 10mm clearance but if too close might be easier to fix with a sway bar relocator

All settled in now with the correct springs, efs elite up to 60kg fronts and 150 constant load springs in the rear. 40mm front and 50mm rear lift unladen. Firm ride when unloaded but beautiful with 100kg in the tray. Only odd thing is the left side rear lower shock mount seams to be angled down quite a bit from factory so bush is under a fair bit of twist and a bitch to fit. Apparently this is normal.
All up pretty happy with the efs kit not after a missive lift as mainly go touring with a camper

No.. it is not false advertising.
The vehicle will be "x" height unloaded. It will drop "y" when a load goes in, ending up at "x-y"
That's what happens. An uprated suspension just drops less as its spring rate is higher.
If you want a vehicle that doesn't move it will need to have solid springs.

Still doesn't matter how much it drops as long as it can carry its rated load. Thats why they have the headlight adjusters on the rear leafs to adj lights when rear drops.
If you dont want it to move as much purchase an aftermarket suspension kit with higher rated leafs etc.
I use RidePro as I am associated with them.

Keen to hear? Has anyone used the OME BP-51 coil overs front only? And gone with a regular EFS or King raised leaf pack in the rear with say OME Nitro's or Bilstein B6's? Really like the sound of the OME 51's but not sure the budget can stretch to front and back ATM. I mostly use my rig for daily driving and am looking not for lift for lift's sake, but the continued handling quality when towing a boat - and better ride quality for the everyday stuff.

If you are seriously that concerned about how much the rear drops:
- Get a load distribution hitch if towing on tarmac.
- Get an aftermarket suspension kit (i.e. replacement springs or airbag helpers) if towing offroad, as bazzle has already mentioned.

Since installation of aftermarket suspension my SR5 headlights (auto-levelling) have been aiming a bit too high for my linking. I used the original shackles with the headlight adjuster jigger but obviously the swap to a different leaf pack has changed the angle on the shackle such that the overall calibration has been thrown out.

I know that ARB etc. have ones that they install with their lift kits, presumably set appropriately for their leaf packs/shackles.

Does anyone know:

1. Are the ARB (or other manufacturer) ones 'set length arms' or adjustable in case they don't align correctly for my setup.

2. Any other options for adjustable jigger arms ? My google searching is not going well.

3. Is there actually the ability to adjust the static headlight position at the headlight (old school style) to calibrate the system to my leaf pack ?

Thanks

Has anyone else had issues with the sway bar hitting the mounting brackets for the front bash plate when using a sway bar reallignment kit? I've seen that the OME BP51 fitting kit has replacements for this reason but I'm wondering if there are any others out there. I'm a bit wary about cutting up the standard ones incase it's not enough to fix the issue.

I think you are referring to what I called the radiator support brackets that extend outwards, with the sway bar running across over the top of them ?? Yes, they hit with the sway bar mounts spaced down but my kit (king) came with simple spacers to lower those radiator support brackets down slightly also.

Creaky, to answer your question about headlight leveling. The arb bracket is adjustable in three stages from memory.

So ended up changing the front efs struts that had some issues to some bilstein with king spring. Such a nice comfy setup. Wish I had done this in the first place

Ok, so I've read all the forum notes for this thread, some are a bit too much for me in the modification department. I am seriously considering a Lovells suspension kit to give me that magical 2in lift and to carry extra weight for touring and basic 4wding. My charet (3week old 2017 SR5) has TJM winch bar and winch and rear bar work and underbody bash plates, ARB canopy and tradie roof rack, I intend to fit a 80 lt diesel tank in the back to live there permanently and hopefully a 80 lt water bladder in the back seat area. Add to all that the 80lt fridge and a draw system ( to be built).
Considering the weight factor, does anyone have any experience with Lovells setup they could pass on to me.

Not on a Hilux but had Lovells on a 06 Patrol and it was great. Did the cape with a lot of weight and a lot of corregations without any issues.

I got a bilstien ready strut kit from fulcrum, no bull bar and the ride is pretty nice. I have 150kg EFS rear leaves and shocks and with a couple of hundred kilos in the back the ride is really nice.
Very happy with the bilsteins and a comfy ride (for a ute) I was after a comfort ride as I usually have an empty tray
