The ride is awesome compared to the nitro chargers. Customer has a large van and full alloy canopy on the back. Put the van on wind the compression up a notch and ya dont even know its there he reckons. He'll be back next week for his 500k check so ill quiz him more. So far he's absolutely wrapped! We had a promo day at work yesterday for the bp51s and I spent all day in the bosses ranger taking hopeful customers for a blast on our test track/tune track and to say people get blown away is an understatement. The biggest thing I say to people is if ya plan to do the ks, then they r worth every penny!

So the rear end gets sorted and settles down with the OME kit? I can't stand the standard suspensions' jiggly ride on poor country roads. Worse than my old truck. And you get a true 50mm lift :D[/quote]

Yeh I'm happy with the lift and the ride. They even have warranty for sag if it drops below a certain height they replace it. The ride is 100 times better. I couldn't justify the bp51's, arb quoted me an extra $1800 for them. And they told me the lift on the bp's was less than the nitros

Good to hear Chris I was thinking of going ome nitros, be interesting to see how the measure up in a month or so once really settled I'm hoping for 50cm lift and even ride height front to rear no nose drop. Cheers

Couple of pics of the lit and the front end. ImageImageImageImage the correct tool for the job!Image

which the maximum that can lift the truck with this kit?

Same as all ome gear, around the 50mm mark. The coil adjustment isn't really there for lift, it's there so you can adjust for rigs with more or less accessory weight.

Just been working on stages 1 - 5 for the Hilux, in Icon Suspension, with Blackhawk UCA's to suit giving 3 degrees of caster correction, and reprofiled front pipe for bigger tyre clearance on the lock, and angled ball joint cup for more droop with our longer struts, and diff drop.

Will do 3" lift and have SR5 headlight adjuster brackets and longer shackles as part of the package, and new protector plates with steel sub frame and 5mm alloy plate to work with the sway bar relocation like our FJ and 200 units.

They are awesome value for money.

The built in hydro bumps, the way the CD adjuster stops line pressures maxing out, the ride and handling is superb.

Stage 1 starts around $2975 and stage 4 CDC is around $5500 ish, and the full monty is around 11k.

Can any one offer advice on what tires (how big) i can run with the bp51 suspension? (Toyzx this might be one for you :D )

im lookin at dropping to a 17" rim as the tires get a fair bit cheaper.

For rims i've got my eyes on the method grid titanium
http://www.methodracewheels.com/collect ... -black-lip
appears to have 0 offset

Tires will likely be BF a/t2's
i assume the 265/70r17 would fit no worries, but what are the chances for 285/70r17 however i'd rather not have the extra width.
the BF site also states that a 265/70r18 will be here by the end of the year, so if it fits i could head this way and stay with the 18" rim.

Thanks

Every kit I've fitted on the new lux so far has settled to around 60mm. There seems to be a bit more room under these new ones so I reckon you'd fit 285s with minimal effort. Maybe you can be the test dumby![WINKING FACE] Also noticed today why the newer ones have longer rear shocks and it isn't for more travel, the mounts r just further apart.

Question is do you want a gmv legal upgrade. There are a whole lot of comments about this in previous threads. ARB and the likes cannot and will not give a certificate for GMV upgrade should you require one. You will need to get an independent engineers report to do that. Before you spend your hard earned dollars, consider what you want to do, do I need an upgrade for weight or just plain clearance. This comment I know will open a can of worms. I already put a lift kit in at some expense only to find that it does not qualify for a gvm upgrade. Research then told me there are companies that will do a lift kit that will qualify for a gmv upgrade. ( I am speaking in Victoria and cannot comment of the regulations of other states)
