Need something to get you rolling?

275/70/17 2019 Hilux

Hi All,

I have spent hours looking through this site trying to determine the following...
Will 275/70/17 A/T's with +18 offset fit a 2019 lux with a 2" (bout 1.5" in the front) OME lift. Stock size is 265/60/18 +30. Has anyone done this and did they scrub? Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers

I have 275/70/17 st Maxx on et10 wheels. I have 2.5 inch actual lift with adjustable upper n lower control arms.

My left and right tracks are not the same, had et20 before the et10 wheels if my right tyre clears everything my left tyre will rub on sway bar on full lock. On et10 my left tyre clears everything but my right tyre rubs on mudflap. Cut a big hole on the mudflap cover the hole with duct tape now the right tyre clears everything.

If you don't want to do any metal work adjustable UCA and adjustable LCA bushes are must.

Adjustable LCAs - other than the stock adjustability?

P10 rim are generally the go to for this size. The rims you are talking about will work to but you may get scrubbing on the UCA and swaybar. Most live with this.

Lift will have no impact on scrubbing. Moving both control arms forward is important for minimising scrub on the madflap/body mount. The stock LCA has plenty of adjustment, the UCA has none. People replace the UCA with an adjustable unit to regain the stock steering geometry after moving the LCA forward.
I might be wrong.

Sorry for the (likely simple) question but the difference in overall diameter is about 40mm so if I go turn full lock and make sure there is around 20mm of clearance that will get me the answer of whether it will scrub or not? Just new to this all. No hate pls.

That’s a good start...

You need to remember though that the tyre needs to fit when the suspension is at full compression, not just when parked on the drive way, and it needs to do all of that with proper alignment. “Lift” makes no difference as the end point is still the suspension bump stop.

Good luck.

I had p18 with 265/70 before i had the superpro LCA and they couldn't even clear the mudflaps without cutting.

It works in theory but rarely in practice as what a manufacturer puts on the side of the tyre isn't always its actual size. Best you can do is try.

Sorry if this sounds stupid but P10 rims are +10 offset correct?
