Hi all.

I've fitted 16x8 King D Lockers with a pos 20 offset without issue. There's plenty of room between the inner sidewall of the tyres (265/70) and the upper control arm. That being said there's only about 2mm from the inner face of the spokes to the face of the calipers so rocks getting wedged between the two might be an issue. A lesser or neg offset sometimes increases the angle of the spokes giving more clearance from the caliper but this would depend on the brand of wheel you go for so checking with the manufacturer/supplier would be your best bet.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Been talking to dealer about 16" rims. They recommended mickey Thompson classic 3 & Baja lock , Deegan pro 2&4. They could confirm they all fitted. I have swapped my prado 150 rims with toyo tyres for the moment. Handling the weight a bit better than the 18s

What are the legalities of running 16s on these vehicles, considering they came with 17s?
Load rating of a like-branded 16 still is greater than what our Luxy’s weigh, but since tyre placard states 17s are we open to insurance/warranty/roadworthy issues?
Like most- I want more tyre less rim, but what are the repocuasions?

Check with an Engineer but I think it is the overall tyre diameter they are concerned with. I think it is 50mm maximum overall diameter increase in Victoria assuming you have a 50mm lift. You can go higher in tyres but max combination of tyre and lift is 75mm (50mm lift and 50mm tyre OD increase). Just google “guide to modifications for motor vehicles Victoria”, it is a PDF. Section 13.3.
