I bought my '99 LN167R with 33s on 15s with about a 2 inch lift . By the looks the only thing that got worked over was a bit at the front, but that could have been to fit the bullbar it also came with.

Only other thing is i can't have mudflaps on because the wheel hits them.

If you search the forum for your particular model Hilux you'll find something on here. Have a look at some of the Member Builds as well.

Hey guys. I've been thinking about putting 17" wheels in my truck with 285/70R17 tires.
Has anyone here ridden?
Mine is with original 18" wheels with 275/65R18 tires.I also thought about putting 18" wheels with the same tire but I'm afraid of offset and wheel width.Image

I have fitted 295/70r17 nitto trial grapplers on mickey thompson side biter rims
With an Iron man performance Pro series lift and the front wound most the way up
Also A-arm diff drop kit, trimmed front body mounts and front quarter panels for extra clearance.

Hey guys,

Ive done a fair bit of looking and cant find a definative answer to my question online. Ive just purchased a new SR5 Facelift, and have started the mod process already. Its getting BP51's, Black Hawk UCA's and ive also got a set of Fuel Maverick 17 x 9 with 20mm offset wheels. At this stage there is no bull bar, just the original front bumper.

My question is does anybody know if a 285/70/17 will work? Or am I better off using a 275/70/17.

Thanks in advance for you advice.

What are the biggest tyres I can fit on my PDW Bloksta (17x9, 35 p offset)?

I plan on a 3 inch lift at the front, 2 rear.

Hilux Max - would you recommend any other mods like adjustable UCAs?

I was hoping to up to 33s next time but don’t think I can now without forking our for new wheels .

N80 SR5 2016

Edit - biggest legally

Cheers

Just bumping this thread to see if anyone has had a crack at what they were saying they were going to do.

I've been lucky enough to get my hands on a 2017 SR5, I would like to drop down to 17" rims and run 285/70R17 atleast to allow more sidewall flex/bigger footprint when aired down, would this work with a 3"lift? Does anyone have a better idea or recommendation?

Cheers,

Dion

It's IFS so lift height is irrelevant, anything that fits with a 3" lift will fit with no lift because it moves through the same arc, only body lifts and bump stop extensions change that.
As for the Tyres, a 17" will definitely be better offroad as long as it clears your brakes (larger range of tyres in that size too).

Would I get away without having to stuff around with body mount chops etc with the correct offset rim, or should I play it safe and drop to say a 275/70/17. I've just thrown a good 10g on bits and pieces on for it, I want to make sure it's usable and functional.

It is getting this 3" kit fitted on the 6th (whoop whoop!!)

Hey mate how did this turn out?

Did you encounter any problems with this setup? Or things you would do differently?
As this is what I’m looking at doing.
Cheers

Have got a 2 inch lift, UCA fitted and my 285/60r18 JUST touch mainly when reversing and turning slightly. Have lost some full-lock turning ability but I'm looking to take it to another alignment shop (have been to two so far) to make sure it's the best possible job.
Slight vibrations on the highway which isn't ideal on a brand new SR5.
