150 Prado Rims on 2016 Hilux

150 Prado Rims on 2016 Hilux

Postby BEN_SR on Fri, 05 Aug 2016 11:17 +0000

Hi Guys,

In my quest for some cheap 17" Toyota alloys I've come across some nice Prado 150 series Gxl rims for a good price.

Looking at the specs, the offset is slightly different with the standard Hilux being +30 and the Prado being +25.

Has anyone installed 17" Prado rims on the current Hilux? Any dramas. Tyre sizes will stay the same, I'm gonna run the 265/65R17 until I've put a lift in.

Cheers,

Ben

Ben, the offset will not be a problem because it is so small, as long as the brakes are clear and the wheel nut pattern is the same I can't see any problem. Not likely to be a problem for you but there may be someone here who has already done the same.
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.

120 Prado rims fit over the calipers, so 150s should be fine.

If you are concerned, try one on the front before you grab 'em. :D

Did you end up trying the Prado wheels? If so, how did they go?

Nah no deal on the Prado rims. I didn't buy them as the gumtree deal fell through. Picked up some N70 Hilux Rims though, which should fit fine.

Like Gipsy said above. and an extra 5mm offset will barely change anything.

Agree as the only difference between 120 and 150 that I can see is the discs are slightly thicker.

I can confirm they fit like a glove. Sick of Tyre problems and 18"s with the weight I carry so put on the 150 17" rims with light truck toyo rubber and happy at the moment.

Yeah mate. Been on for 10,000kms now with no problems. Fits straight up, no issues. I'm running stock tyres though.
