Installed 265/65 R18 BF Goodrich AT KO2s on stock suspension & alloys. No rub that I noticed. Mud flap still on. I try & post a few photos.
Don't know how to upload photos!

Stock size 265/60R18 is equal to 30.5inch, these are 265/65R18, equal to 31.6inch, so only slightly larger.
Am keen to get the bar work done and get some dirt on them!

Did you get a chance to get any photos of the whole ute with the tyres fitted ?

Thanks.

Hi all

I have a 2016 sr5 standard no lift, I do have a bullbar. I just put sr 17 inch rims with 265 70 17 mickey t's ATZ P3 (second hand set) and they rub on the guard when I hit a bump while turning. What's the best mode to do on fender (photos would be great) and how much clearance would I gain with the castors all they way forward.

Cheers

Thanks bud. It's an ironman bar. Any rolling diameter bigger than standard will more than likely rub without a lift..ko2's have a squarer edge compared to the highway tyres which doesn't help.

Just looking at replacement tyres for my new SR5 - sounds like I'll be fine to go 265/65/18 Cooper AT3 on stock suspension..? Just want something slightly beefier than the HT's it comes with.

Hi guys. I'm about to do a 45mm lift on my SR5, so reading this thread 265/65/R18 is the biggest I can go or can I do a 265/70/R18?

Dare007 ive got the 265/65/18 Cooper AT3 on stock suspension with summit bar and it does rub slightly, but not enough to really annoy me. Ive removed mud guards and will get a OME lift soon which will hopefully sought the rubbing out. By the sounds of it you can wind castors forward after that if they still rub.

Unless it is a purely aesthetic mod, there would be some meaningful performance consequences from running 285/70/17 or 285/65/18 (let's call them 33s for ease of reference) given the tall factory gearing on this model hilux. 6th gear would be (even more) redundant and 1st would be tall for takeoff and crawling.

You'd have to seriously consider a regear if squeezing in some 33s in my opinion, or (if you are so inclined) a remap to draw some more torque.

That being said, I'd love some 33s on my lux as I had them on my last vehicle so it's a bit hard going back to 32s. Just don't have the commitment to get it all sorted for my expected use of this car with young kids ate the moment.

I have '33s' or 285/70/17 on my manual 2016 sr5. Performance is fine and they fit fine on 0 offset rims. Have also done some heavy towing with them. Never have I thought the need for a regear.

Didn't you just get a remap done for more power and torque ?

So has anyone taken their stock sr5 with 265 65/r18s off road yet and run into any rubbing issues? We'll be doing the Holland Track shortly and I'm looking at getting rid of the h/ts and getting some bfgs. I can't justify a lift at present but really don't want any rubbing either. Would appreciate your guys experience with this set up - particularly off road.

I am running a 2 inch lift in the rear, 3 inch lift on the front with 285/70r17 on 17x8 +0 wheels. Caloffroad UCA's with caster adjusted all the way forward. Still scrubbed on the rear of the front guard under compression. Heat gun and tapping the guard away helped . Not sure about the body mount yet, I will see what happens offroad this weekend!
