2021 Hilux SR5

Exactly 2” lift with bullbar & winch( front lifted 3” in setting to compensate load added) with maxxis mt764 275/65R18 stock rim 18x7.5 ET30 -> rubbing Swaybar cause turning radius become bigger( cant do full lock) in the situation that body panel had been trimmed as mentioned and mudflap to hot-gunned.

Currently rim changed to 18x9 ET0 with 275/65R18, no more swaybar rubbing but mudflap need to be taken off, ends up rubbing body mounting. Rubbing only occurs during different slope angle between front left and right hand side. Due to the aftermarket inner fender liner installed, i drill a m6 hole at body mounting to tighten the liner, preventing rubbing too much. While i still try to put on soft mudguard by DIY, to prevent splash of mud. It is now still in testing period. ;) Hopefully no body mounting modification to be done.

Hi, I've been looking through a lot of forums on this site and others and still can't decide on my next move.
I was originally going to go 285/70/17's but after seeing 90% of people saying you need to do a body chop I've decided I'll give it a miss as I'm new to it and don't know enough about it.
My next thought is would 275/70/18's fit on the stock wheels of my 2016 Sr5. Removing mud flaps doesn't bother me but any chopping would, I wouldn't mind going with 17" wheels if thats required too. And my last option would be 265/70/18 or 17" wheels. I'm getting a 3" lift front and 2" rear lift as well.

If anyone has experience with these tire sizes could send some info my way that'd be great.

You dont need to chop the body with 285 70 r17. Just move the LCA forward and get an adjustable UCA to compensate and get your alignment back.

17x8 P10 rims are about the right offset for 285 70 r17. Lift doesn't make any difference.

I would never recommend a body chop unless you want a higher risk of getting your feet trapped by your front wheel during a car accident.
I might be wrong.
