Has anyone fitted 275/65/18 cooper st maxx on the standard alloys? If so, was there any scrubbing?
I'll be having a suspension lift (ARB with BP51's) fitted and an ARB bar which may help.
I would like to run this size since it's still legal but I don't want to deal with scrubbing.

Bp51's only come in 30mm lift(that what local arb to me and mate when in there other day)
And many run a p18 or less off set whell
Will they scrub I'm not sure, I do know p18 wheels 265 in a 32" with 30mm lift work well

If it helps, a mate has fitted 265/65/18 bf ko2s they do scrub a little when turning full lock, that's with standard suspension.

I have that size fitted to my hilux. Only very slight rubbing on the mudflap at full lock. You can either remove mud flap or just heat it up and bend it back slightly. I have 2" lift kit Fox adjustable lift kit. Front came up exatcly 50MM

The big question you need to ask is where the car was when it scribes
if on the blacktop your dreaming if you want to take it off road
If that's full lock Under flex then you'll be fine removing mud flap or bending it a bit

My gen5 had 285 wide (33") tyres with 2" lift
Good onroad but tyres scrubbed everywhere off road
Required 4" lift to allow 10" of travel and 5" lift for 12" travel
It now has 5" lift 12" shocker and 33" wheels daily driven

I have in my riding 275/65R18 (32") BFGoodrich All Terrain without alteration in suspension. It is very good and very little scrapes, nothing significant.

When you say very little scrapes, is that day to day driving on a paved road?
If you scrap at all on a paved road you are dreaming if you plane to drive it off road other then some gravel roads

yes, directing day to day, on paved roads and also not paved. I walk about 70km of roads not paved.

here in Brazil this tire size is sold in Toyota Dealers, without any alteration in the suspension.

I can fit 37's on my car with only minor rubbing when turning but do I do it with my current suspension setup, no, why, my car goes of road where flex in suspension is required, so I stick with the 33's that only just clear

If you can't turn your wheel and drive 1 side up a car ramp , you have a mall crawler, not a 4wd

I walk 70km road not paved almost every day. without doubt is not a mall on wheels. as said earlier, the Toyota dealership sells these tires measures for hilux 2016, needs no alteration in any suspension. this is the focus of the topic, but if you want to modify the suspension, do, but there is not need.

Do you guys with 275/65/18's find any power loss or much different in fuel economy?
Thinking of getting them put on mine with aftermarket rims. cheers.

it loses some recovery above 100km/h. But nothing to worry about. Consumption not felt almost no difference.

only when a soil unevenness and driving this turned to the side. he rubs on to clay.
on flat ground it does not shave anywhere.

Is there any chance I can fit a 285/65/18 tyre without upgrading the suspension or
Can I at least fit them and then drive the car to get the car lifted

Only reasons I'm asking is because I don't intend to go off road anytime soon so my
Lift kit can wait but I still want that aggressive look

I highly recommend the 275/70R18. The 285/65R18 is wider and will scrape on the control arms. The 275/70 is narrower and taller than the 285/65.

But I do not know if you're going to get in with the original pickup.

GQTrav, did you end up fitting the 275/65 R18 Cooper ST Maxx to your standard rims? This is exactly what I had planned for my new Lux this week. Any scrubbing?

Or anyone else?

Hey Dametto, do you know how much lift is required to run 275/70 r18 with out any issues?

I have the same doubt as you. I believe that 50mm of lift and a wheel with negative offset. The 275/70/18 will shave a lot in the control arms.

275/70/18 is equivalent to 33".
