We have brake upgrades too, I have carbon pads at the moment, and rear disc brake conversion to install.

I have run as little as 35s on every truck in the last 28 years and understand them well.

Diff gears here in a month or so for them too.

Arctic are different to the ones we are using, and the link is for the 38 version, not the 35 version, so thats why theya re bigger, and I will have a link as soon as we have stock to the website, as we will have several models available for sale.

I rang up Canberra technical rego section this morning, they stated 50mm Tyres, 50mm suspension lift and 50mm body lift max, thats each, not overall, he said its stated in VSB14 and is now a National standard.
Curious to know if it really is National ??

Sorry mate, I only just saw this post. Ive actually gone back to a 265/70 size tyre (same rolling diameter)...just to keep the tyre inside the guard. I don't have any photos showing the clearance to the mudflap though.

ive fitted 285x60r18, rim offsett +20, 40mm EFS lift. the tyres rub on full lock on the rear mud guard plus the top upper control arm. I had to put a 25mm EFS ball joint on the UCA. No issues now

Am I the only person thinking the tight front wheel arches on these new Hilux's and the way they pinch the tires is a terrible design flaw? Surely Toyota must consider that a large number of their customers will desire to put bigger tires on? Pisses me off how modern 4WD vehicles are becoming less and less capable off road without serious modifications to the suspension. Someone on here said that the Ranger can take 33's without any lift due to their rounder arches having more space? Toyota should pay attention to that. I'm not bashing Toyota I just got a new SR5 and love it but it'd be nice to be able to whack some bigger tires on it maybe 32's or 33's without having to worry about scrubbing. Seems to be the general consensus is that even with a 2 inch lift 33's scrub unless you swap out the plastic bumper to an aftermarket one with more wheel clearance, +20 wheels and adjust the alignment and get new UCA's? What a joke. If only they had rounded out the arches a little like the modified Arctic Trucks version below we wouldn't have to go to such extremes to fit bigger tires. Sorry for the rant It just seems like such a blatant design oversight. Feel free to voice your opinions on the issue.

See more pics at the link below. Bloody good looking rig. Those tyres are 35's.

Interesting no Europe Gen 8 release yet. Australasia working out all the new gen gremlins first perhaps
Translation of page from above link
It may be possible to import this edition ... at a cost

"The premiere of the new generation Toyota Hilux AT35 from Arctic Trucks will be held this week

Arctic Trucks Russia The company will present the pickup Toyota Hilux AT35 new generation of this week, on this edition of our head of sales department of the company Ruslan Sawicki. Russia will become the first country to see the new "arctic" pick-up: Europe's eighth-generation Hilux sales will begin only next year, so it was decided to postpone the development of our country. Especially for the preparation of off-road version of the Hilux in the Russian Arctic Trucks engineers arrived from Iceland, along with them local experts working on the model.

Development lasted just over a month. New Hilux arrived in Krasnoyarsk in early October this year, and in November a white pick-up has gone on trial. From the usual Toyota pickup truck version of Arctic Trucks is characterized primarily larger wheels, for which it was necessary to increase the space and install the wheel arches expanders body. Brackets secure the body to the chassis, bodywork and side steps mud flaps are as different from the standard car. The power unit and the transmission is completely native, up to the wheel bearing.

Roughly, the cost Toyota Hilux AT35 eighth generation will be higher by 600 000 in comparison with the serial "Haylaksom", ie the most affordable "Arctic" pick-up of the new generation will cost a minimum of 2,099,000 rubles. Complete list of improvements and technical characteristics of the new off-road car from Arctic Trucks will be announced after the premiere."

I have just fitted 16x8 with 20 offset rims. The rims fit fine but with 265/75r16 tyres they rub on the mud flap. Was hoping the wouldn't as I also have a 2 inch lift. Probably should have left the 17 inch rims and gone for 265/70s.

But that would be exactly the same diameter and width tyre so wouldn't change the rubbing issue .....

Yeah sorry mate should have been a bit more specific 265/70 r17 not 265/70 r16. Anyway after removing the mud flap no rubbing. Went for a drive this arvo with the the chief driving and myself in the passenger seat. Picked a familiar sand hill and up she went. Had way too much tyre pressure (40psi). with the stock tyres and rims (30psi) it did not make it up the same hill. I knew the new set up would be better but I was surprised how much better it was. On road is a lot smoother too.

Sorry forgot to mention with the stock rims the offset would change the position of the the tyre so I'm not sure if it would have rubbed. I guess I will never know.
