Thought this may interest some, I have adjusted a WAECO WCI-13 13 litre icebox to allow for use of the seatbelt clips on the back seat to retain the icebox and stop coppers bitching about an unsecured load...but mainly so that the wife and I don't get smacked behind the ear by an esky when braking.

The straps I used to clip into the seatbelt are to be had on ebay for the princely sum of AU $2.18 each, the side release clips can also be had on ebay for a pittance.

Note that there is no stitching involved and the job takes about 20 minutes by yourself and 2 hours if your number one daughter is helping.

regards.

Doesn't this only take care of one side of the esky?

Looks like it’s in the middle seat thus buckle on either side.

You could do the same on the side seats using ISOFIX straps instead. This would allow you to have rear passengers.

I usually have the Waeco CFX 50 in the tray, but for day trips I'll put it on the back seat and put the side seatbelt through one lifting handle and the middle through the other. Buckle the belts up and pull them tight and it won't go anywhere.

Downside is that there's only one seat left in the back, but the baby seat takes that up anyway!

Hi all, has anyone removed part of the back seat and fitted a fridge. Looking at doing this with my cfx40.

Cheers
