Hello everyone:

I want to know if is a normal that the gearbox don't allow me to pass to 5th gear when I'm in 4low. In case that is normal, is anyway to bypass that?

Jen's if you need 5th and 6th maybe you should be in h4?

Yes it's normal. Toyota has done this to protect the planetary gearset which you can probably hear screaming while you are in 4th gear.

H4 is perfect for cruising in the sand dunes here in Chile, but there are 2 reasons why i want to use 4L:
-In 4L it disengage all the electronics (traction control, abs, etc), giving me all the power to the wheels.
-In 4H i don't have a perfect ratio for the sand dunes; the 2nd 4H "dies" climbing and the 1st gear is too short and I bog down.

Does your version of Lux allow you to turn off the TRC and other stuff? Just press and hold the vsc button for 5 seconds

Of course I should qualify my statement... I don't have a n80 so I don't know if they have a vsc button

Hi!

Pressing the TRC button (for 5 seconds) deactivates traction control almost completely (it still losing some power) but the abs for example still on in 4H and there is not an exclusive fuse for the abs.

For the moment I'll see if in 4L and the some "extra power" that I hope i'll get with some modifications will keep me the 4th gear "pulling up" climbing the dunes.
