Low Range 2WD

Years ago on my Landcruiser 100, I could un plug a lead on the transmission, then when selecting L 4WD I managed to get low range without 4WD. It was awesome for positioning caravans and on the boat ramp. On the Hilux selecting 4WD Low engages front wheels and on a good surface its no good for the drive train in a turn.

Has anyone experimented with this on the Hilux?

Maybe none of the existing ones are for the current model, the one you posted the link to is pre 2005 models.

Worth a try anyway! Yes mine is a 2017 model and the previous link to the earlier topic relates to 2004 models.

I have never looked at one, but there will be a way of stopping your front diff from engaging, thats assuming that they actually disengage in this model.
