Could you post a link and/or more info on the lockup kit you bought?

Im running Torque pro app with OBD dongle in my car, monitoring transmission fluid temperature, DPF level etc.
Without fail, I have noticed that whilst driving at freeway speeds 100-110km/h if I leave the car in "drive" mode that transmission fluid temperature climbs between 95 to 105 degrees.
If I shift car manually in to "sports mode" and select 5th gear only (S5) then transmission fluid temperature drops to 75-85 degrees and stays there.
Revs do not change in either mode.

Due to the above, lately every time I have to drive long distances on the freeway I just leave the car in S5.
18 SR auto, Bullbar, winch, Snorkel, Towbar, TowPro, Stedi LED’s, Dobinsons GVM upgrade, Steel tray, Aluminium Canopy, ARB on-board air compressor, Diff breathers, BFG MT KM3 265/70-R17, Uneek4x4 rocksliders, Frontier LR fuel tank etc

I might try this on my next trip. What sort of highway fuel economy are you getting keeping it in 5th?

Fuel economy does not change at all.

That’s the go, sounds positive. What sort of numbers are you averaging per 100km?

Mate I got all accessories available under the sun (as per my signature, plus some more) and weigh empty 2.8t , plus Bundutop RTT on top of aluminium canopy which creates wind resistance as well.

With all this and driving it like I stole it, I'm getting between 11.5 and 12.5 litres per 100km. Happy with it considering all of the above.

Please let us know how you go with your transmission fluid temps with 5th and 6th gear.
