Have had the software done. Big difference in how the car drives. Shift points feel more refined and purposeful, no more flaring between gears when cold.

Rang my dealer today and got told very rudely there is no such a thing! Rang another dealer close by and got a very helpful guy that knew all about it. Went down to my dealer full of steam to find old mate i spoke to was at lunch, luckily. Told them to look up there technical bulletin and sure enough there it was! They knew nothing about it until i went there.
Getting done Monday arvo.

I had the same issue, i spent about two hours on the phone arguing about the update, but by providing them with the "TNF:67/16" code, they were able to find the update and book me in asap. I got the update this arvo and so far, so good....... Taking her for a run on the highway tomorrow and we will see how she goes.

I normally drive a manual but the auto puts up a message that say you can not break and accelerate at the same time and the car looses power which is off putting in town. This also is weirded to me as I brake going in to pot hole a power out

Do we know if this is only for certain models up to a particular build date or for every diesel auto?

Gday all.
Thanks this forum i was able to get my software updated today in my SR5 auto. Took it to Toyota this morning were I purchased the hilux. They knew nothing of the update. Was able to find another local Toyota dealer that knew about the auto slipping issue and the knocking issue. They did both repairs under warranty no issues. Note they did not replace the shaft. They removed it and did something. Will wait to see if it is fixed. If not I will get them to replace it. Thanks to Clintons Toyota Campbelltown the hilux drives perfect no slipping, smooth gear changes.

I stopped in at the dealer to ask about it, he wasn't sure and plugged it in. They did the auto ecu reflash on the spot. He said mine was the last of the builds that didn't have it and that Everything with a build date from 9/16 should have it.

Where abouts do they plug into to do the update? Obd port or behind the glove box?

Guessing OBD as my unichip is behind the glovebox and they didn't mention it.

My torque converter lockup kit is behind there that's why I'm asking.
Any notice in fuel economy ?

Took the Hilux for a highway run after the up date, such a nicer drive. Cant really say much on fuel economy as yet but was sitting in 6th gear at 100km/h only dropping a gear on a slight hill where you would expect it too.

I had the tailshaft replaced earlier on in the year and had them look at the transmission as it would make random bad clunking changes. About once every 5000km. They kept it overnight to let it cool and found it was 300ml low on transmission fluid. This was in March. Since then it has only made one rough shift. Will need to check that out

I had mine done on Monday. Wow! Different vehicle. The auto just does what its supposed to now would be the best way to describe the difference.
