Hi! is it normal for our hilux engine oil to decrease? No leaks or whatsoever. We have this issue here in the philippines (most of us, not all). Some toyota dealers here told us that we need to top up oil every 5000 km, and replace oi ever 10000km (Fully Synthetic)

I experienced having an Low Oil level warning around 8000km i think. (Specially when inclined, it shows up) Then I checked the dipstick, and it is below the low level indicator. THANKS!

No. Not normal

Neighbour has a 2018 Prado and also had his oil warning light come on while on a hill. He checked it and it needed a top up. Spoke to the dealer who said it’s normal. He knows it’s not as he has a 2016 Hilux with the 1GD as well and it doesn’t use oil at all.
He didn’t push it however as the Prado is leased and goes back in another few years.
