Coolant on drive belt

Postby Mattmatusik on Fri, 24 Jan 2020 6:39 +0000

Hi guys
Had water pump changed on my car and the mechanic spilt some coolant on the serpentine belt.
Now she squeals a little bit then disappears after 30 minutes
I was wondering if I could spray the belt with anything to stop it
Thanks

Try cleaning it with some break cleaner, it shouldn't affect the rubber.

If it's a new belt it might need an adjustment as well as cleaning
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.
