2.7 litre petrol engine noise

After taking my Workmate dual cab back three days after purchase and leaving it at the dealership for three days, followed by a three hour drive with a Toyota Australia service rep, I was told (2 weeks later) that it was a “characteristic” of the engine. Of course, I don’t accept the brush off but I’d really like to fix it rather than get my money back. Please, only reply if you have had experience or real knowledge of this fault in 2018 2tr fe engines.
