Over here in Germany..........

Ive driven in Germany for aprox 2 yrs.
Its mind blowing, to say the least.
You're number plate drills down to the block that you live in,
theres a fine if you don't have your surname on the letter box. ( and no delivery of mail)

your rego better have the paperwork ( and TUV approval) for shit like a tow bar, bullbar, wheels, lights, any accessory or its a huge fine.
Then theres the winter/summer tyres.............talk about big brother

Dpf Removal

Postby Hiluxtorv on Wed, 15 Nov 2017 7:02 +0000

Hey everyone,
I've been seeing on Facebook and some other forums that people have been getting their dpf removed off the new 1gd and 2gd engines, i know it voids warranty and is illegal, but just curious as to who has had it done? How much did it cost, pros and cons etc etc, just want peoples feedback if they have done it. Cheers

Has anyone used the dpf delete module from 54 4x4? I've been looking into it, the bloke makes the module and the dpf delete pipe, I was considering buying the module. I would then get another old dpf, gut it out and weld a new pipe inside, then run delete module, still looks factory standard? Anyone have a dpf lying around for a 2gdftv by any chance?

I am investigating the same thing, I am now trying to find a used DPF at the various wreckers.I will experiment by drilling a hole through it and try that or, in the alternative ,weld a bypass pipe above the existing and still allow the entire DPF to function normally.Much thinking to do.

I have a friend who works at Toyota, he might he able to get me one hopefully!
Bit I've also been reading on forums, on the fortuna forum there's a bloke getting some dpf look alikes made in Thailand that are straight through, maybe we could just buy one when he gets more made?

Morning All,
I have just this morning seen and inspected a 2016 Hilux with a 20mm hole drilled right through it, the owner reports greatly improved power, lower diesel use and the ECU functions normally, no fault codes, :? he says the bloke that did it for him said it will extend the life of the DPF as well.I asked about emissions testing and he said it has increased but he will argue old DPF wearing out.Interesting Eh?

You mean right through the centre of the filter?
That's actually a pretty smart idea, wouldn't be hard to do either, I wonder if you could go for a larger hole?

G,day Hiluxtorv,
I asked my exhaust fella and also says, bloody great idea, he also said 15mm max so as not to stuff up ECU and still keep the emissions within reasonable tolerance.I will investigate further and advise

Sounds good!
I'm not sure if I'll be drilling mine though, I found a guy who does dpf delete modules for about 100 dollars (his called dpf solutions), he makes them for a lot of cars. The only problem being it doesn't come with plugs, meaning you have to splice your own loom. I'm talking to him about having plugs put on and then just buy a dpf delete pipe.
I want to keep the dpf in good condition incase I ever need to return to stock for emissions etc

DPF Delete

Postby NebulaLux5 on Sun, 24 Jun 2018 2:22 +0000

G'day guys,

I've searched the forum and can't really pinpoint what I'm looking for. Has anybody done a DPF delete on a current model Lux (or even N70) and had any issues with it such as lots of soot? I know the DPF delete is highly illegal with something like a $10k-$15k fine but I want to get rid of mine. I've seen videos on YouTube of old and new Lux's with a DPF delete and didn't see any smoke. Seen plenty roll into the workshop without em without any smoke. Just after some advice

Cheers all

Do it you won’t regret it !!! Auto 2.8L fuel economy will improve to 9L per hundred in the city and reduce even more on highways

Put a high flow cat on it which will make it less smelly

DPF delete module and latest update

Postby numberplate on Fri, 07 Sep 2018 4:47 +0000

does anybody have a DPF delete module and had the latest ( Aug 18 ) software update?

just curious to know if the update has any affect on the workings of the delete module?

I havent done a delete yet , but just wondering if i will be wasting my time getting it done if any factory ECU updates just negate the module. I suppose its the same with a remap ? any updates wipe that out too?

The new ECU update has no effect on the operation of the DPF delete module, if you are interested in one I can shoot you in the right direction, I have had one fitted for a few months now and my dealer is aware of it and has continued to do the updates regardless of it having it fitted, so far no issues with the operation of the module.

Hi, I’m running the 2,4 l Hilux in Europe, and would be very interested in a dpf delete. Have you got more info on this?
Cheers

Just curious, why would you wan't that? Preventive or do you already have problems with DPF? I wonder how DPF delete will affect SCR, they don't have SCR in Australia.
