Its not there mate, there is a DPF preassure info but not temp.
Best I can come up with is take exhaust temp from one of th hottest sensors which was showing high 500’s during the burn.

G'day Grunf,

My Torque Pro (on my tablet and phone) has it listed directly under DPF Pressure as DPF Temperature. However from memory (need to check) this is not accurate and as you suggested you need to use one of the Exhaust Gas Temp Bank Sensors set up to read the actual pre and post DPF temperature.
I vaguely remember getting instructions from Prado Point ? as to which ones to use, if you don't get an answer by tonight I will have a look then.

Cheers, Simon.

Ok grunf, found the reference from Prado point.

"For those interested in torque pro the DPF temp sensor is the EGT Bank1 Sensor 2"

This works for me, hope it works for you.

I bought a Scantool OBDLINK LX, set it up as per GleamingShadows instructions and all worked perfectly.

https://www.scantool.net/obdlink-lxbt/

Coincidently the SR5 DPF was at 96%, so went for a drive, got to 100% then obviously started a burn and after 15 mins was at 6%.

I also setup a GPS Speedo just to check the accuracy, Ute is 4 kmh under at 80.

Thanks to all who have contributed so far.

Could someone explain how to set it up please as I am hopeless with this :|

Not 100% sure which bit you want to do, the following to for setting up a manual regen button.

From Torque's main screen go to Realtime Information, that will take you to all your/the gauges etc.
Find a clear space and press and hold for a few seconds. A menu titled Item Options will appear, with the button below Add display, tap this.

You will be presented with a list of all available displays, scroll right to the bottom and you will see Push Button, tap this. It will then present another list of button types, you want Send OBD Command. Upon selecting this it will place the button on the screen, allowing you to position it where you want it, proceed to do so.

Once positioned, press and hold over the button for a few seconds, a menu will appear. Tap Display Configuration, then Set command to send.
In the following dialogue, enter: 30 29 06 01 01
Then tap OK.

After doing that, go back to the Display Configuration menu and tap Change title and name it "Regen" or something meaning.

If you just want to display DPF accumulation percentage then:

From the Torque homescreen, tap the Setting Cog in the lower left of the screen, followed by Settings.
Then from the following list choose Manage extra PIDs/Sensors. Then tap the overflow menu in the top right (3 vertically stacked dots), and choose Add custom PID.
You will be presented with the PID editor screen.
In the very first field enter: 2138
This is the DPF accumulation PID.
Under long name enter: DPF Accumulation
Short name: DPF.
Minimum Value: 0
Maximum Value: 100
Scale Factor: 1.0
Unit type: %
Equation: J*2

The tap OK.

Return to your gauges: Realtime Information.
Tap and hold, Add display. Choose whatever type of display you like that can display a number or a range.
Once you have selected a display, a list of sensors will show up. Look for "DPF Accumulation" or whatever you entered as its long name, and select it.
It will ask you for display size, choose what is appropriate for you.
You can then position the display as you wish.
And your done!

Hey guys,

I followed these instructions and the DPF & works fine but I am having an issue with the DPF regen button. I followed the instructions and entered the OBD command but when I press the button it does nothing. I have tried both with and without spaces in the number. I am using Torque Pro.

When I press the button nothing happens, I know the revs are meant to rise etc. It is connected because it is showing all the other data including the DPF %.

Help please!

Thanks

Hi coosh,

Sorry to hear it isn't working. I think I've heard that some OBD2 adapters have issues sending some commands. If you've checked and double-checked everything, it might be time to try another adapter?

In the Torque Pro app under settings is a menu "Plugins" top one is "Allow Full Access" try turning that on.

Only other thing I can think of is if your ute has the latest update, maybe Toyota have changed or disabled that command.

Someone who had it working prior to the update and now has the updated software maybe able to help by trying it out.

Thanks Dave and Godzilla73. I changed the 'Allow full access' setting but nothing changed. I know my car did get an update only a few months ago.

Although my OB2 adapter is a cheap Ebay one. Is there any other bluetooth ones you guys recommend that work with android and torque?

Thanks

Get yourself a wifi OBD2 reader from ebay. My ute got the new software installed and I can still do a manual burn.

LEGEND!

So bloody good & worked flawlessly, instructions were so simple & clear greatly appreciated. Unit went into regen instantly revving around 2,000rpm for a min then 1,250rpm for a minute & done, accumulate code then reading 6%.

Now this might sound rude though does anyone have any other sensor codes to add?
I just brought some cheap OBD II unit from Jaycar & using the Torque software.Image
