What is this random Knock noise? Please help.

Hi, I've recentlt started hearing a loud knock noise coming from engine bay area in my 09 Hilux D4D auto. Cant seem to figure it out .. the noise is similar to metal expanding or cooling noise .. it happens loudly around 5 mins after I turn off the ute with a few not so loud knocks then it hits with a loud one.

I have also noticed this noise when I am driving usually at the initial stage of driving but also after I release the accelerator pedal.

Im not conviced that it is simply just metal expanding and making noise when it cools down.

I have caught the noise happening on a video however I dont think I am able to attach a video to this post ..

Also just to add I recently got a secondary diesel filter installed and a transmission cooler, not sure if this may be related. Previously this sound was not existant.

Any help is appreciated please ..

Well that did sound wierd.

Yes it's hard one to pick. Been on it for 2 weeks now. I can confirm its coming from left side of engine area.

It sounds like metal shrinking and expanding, prob becaus of the heat? Could it be the heat protection shield?

It sounds like that Caleebra however not convinced thas it. Its a strong loud clunk that happenes randomly usually wheb car is off for 10mins and also when Im driving at times. Its loud enough that when the car is on and driving I can hear it clearly.

Also never had this issue until around 3 weeks ago it started happening.
