What 3" exthaust to get

Postby iller on Tue, 21 Feb 2017 1:40 +0000

I got the 2.4 European version of the latest Hilux and I'm considering upgrading the exhaust to a bigger one.

So far I'm considering the Legendex but they don't have one for the new Hilux yet it seems so what other good brands are there that ship to Europe? So far i found none in Sweden where I live :(

Hi
I also have GCC Hilux GUN125 2.4l 2GD-FTV and I just ordered Redback Extreme Duty DPF Back Exhaust System for Hilux GUN126 Series 2.8L D-4D from

http://www.exhaustsaustraliawide.com.au/products/Redback-Extreme-Duty-DPF-Back-Exhaust-System-to-suit-Toyota-Hilux-126-Series-2.8L-TD.html

because they can ship worldwide.

I sent them photos of exhaust setup in my car and they pretty sure that the system for 2.8l will fit in 2.4l

It fits perfectly and it is so so so quit system, actually it is quieter than stock system.

Also, it adds a deep tone and I really love it.

Maybe a better response and maybe it is just a placebo effect

Given it is 2.4L I'm not expecting so much from just installing 3" exhaust with straight through muffler but combined with UniChip it is a different story.

This is by the way a Dyno Sheet was given by A1 Exhaust for 2.8L with 3" exhaust

hi, I got the X force 3 inch stainless and would recommend it. I was pissed off with the way the motor sounded below 1500 rpm and over 2200 rpm due to a noisy diesel knock. I found that the new exhaust allows me do drop to 1100rpm before needing a downshift (manual) and not much noisier than the standard one due the DPF I think.

Do you have any videos of it mate? I'm interested in hearing what it sounds like on the 2.4 :D
