I guess I'm wondering how much of the benefit is lost once it becomes a DPF back system only and if it's worth it. Exhaust upgrades have always been marginal at best even when doing the full system.

I'd live with your new ute for a while before you decide.

I have only one friend with a new manual (he came from a chipped D4D) and he is very impressed with how hard it goes stock.

Agreed nice bike, learn to live with it for a while then others will try the exhaust upgrade, two things happen... you get some data on benefits... and demand will make the exhaust shop produce a system to meet the market. All the extra flow in a larger exhaust can't be a negative, til others provide the data and the market.
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.

Yep, just need to ride it out. Too much time to think while waiting for this new rig. I just need to gear down a little.

Funny thing with 3" exhausts, they say it'll better your fuel usage but who owns a 3" exhaust system and doesn't put the foot down to listen for the note hence blowing the fuel theory out of the water. :)

Not me, I just want the heat out of the system, fuel economy is a bonus :)

With 2.5 tonne hooked up you hear that note whether you want to or not :D

Once the Toyota Techs plug their laptops into your vehicle they'll know you've fitted and removed a chip. Bye bye warranty.
On a more personal note, I can't believe someone would be so careless as to fit a performance chip to a brand new vehicle.
If you're after more power that what's available maybe you need to purchase something with more grunt right from the start.

X2 Could not agree more. You would be a brave man to do this. Bang goes your warranty on Engine & drive line problems ( Read your hand book there is a section in there that will dob you in as stated above) You might get lucky though may be the door hinges & paint might still be covered by warranty. CHEERS.

Likewise, get the heat out. Even without an EGT gauge I can tell the system warms up with the heavy loads. Must really be working hard. I had the option with my current 3" system to go quiet or with a little bit of a note. I chose the little bit of a note, I chose poorly. It's not loud but really just makes it sound a little puffy. If I put an exhaust on the new truck, i'll keep it as quiet as possible. DPF back is quieter anyway I've been told

A mate unbolted my exhaust from pretty much under the passenger seat back, just to see how much more noise there might be if you used something like a muffler delete pipe... we couldn't tell any difference in sound... which leads me to think the DPF chops most the noise out, and any DPF back exhaust system will not have much effect on the vehicle sound... been wrong before though!

Anyone fitted a DPF back exhaust yet?

Anyone used xforce's products previously?

so today, hopefully i get my lux back from toyota after 1week of waiting for a new one to come up from sydney. it threw up a fault code and turned out the DPF shit itself after 6000km.
First thing they asked me, "have you been tinkering with it"
