2014 factory reverse camera wiring questions

Hey guys n gals,
2 questions:

#1)
I need to cut and extend the wires for the factory reverse camera to mount it higher on my ladder racks, can I just cut and join like any other 12v wire and how many wires are there?

#2)
Which wire do I cut to stop the camera going into night mode when the headlights are turned on at night.
The reverse camera vision turns to sh!t with the lights on, but with lights off vision is great.
