All you can do is start at the back and work forward by tracking the wire and open it up just in side the cab

Close, but no cigar Dave.
I'm on a dirt road and so the loom connector just in front of the tail lights. 5 or 6 pin connector, usually within a metre or so of the tail lights, fills with dirt & mud, pushing the connections apart. Every couple of years I have to clean it out & put it back. Never wanting to do it again, next time it happens I'm gonna replace the connector with something more permanent.
Next step would then be to move further forward like Dave suggests.

Hi Polly,

(you posted in the Gen 8 area when your 2011 is a Gen 7 but no biggy).

According to the N70 wiring diagrams your rear taillights and indicators run back into the cabin to the BA1 12 pin connector under the passenger seat.
The right rear indicator should have intermittent power when flashing between pins 7 (12v power -green with yellow stripe wire) and 8 (ground - white with black stripe wire).
Any further back your in trouble as its in the J/B No.2 on the brace at the back of the dash which is a massive pain in the arse to get to.
