Hilux 2019 SR dash and Aircon control backlight dimmer

Very recently acquire my first Hilux 2019 SR very happy so far as I have been playing with all the functions I cant seem to dim the dash speedo and RPM gauges back lighting. The centre little led screen I can dim by adjusting using the push button but unable to adjust the analog gauges, also seems the same for the aircon control panel backlights. Is there something I’m missing, if so please educate me. If the is no ability to dim them I was thinking of fitting a dimmer pot from another Toyota if someone has done this mod could you please tell me which plug/ wire I need to tap into with the potentiometer. Good question as it's not very intuitive. You should be able to adjust by tapping the button protruding lower left of speedo.
It will cycle between the trip gauges and a bar graph - which represents the brightness level (as if you can't see yourself how bright everything is including the bar graph which is hard to see when it's dim, go figure).
Anyway, when you are on the bar graph now long press the button and it will cycle through the levels and simply stop when you are happy with it.
Let us know when you have it right and we can issue a certificate of competence.

Thanks Bushwalker for your reply, I know by pushing the post you can adjust the level of the LED display brightness but the analog indicators either side ie Speedo and RPM gauge are still at full brightness even with the LED display set to minimum. Does this mean I have a fault in the combination cluster?

I think this could be a limitation of SR with what they refer to as multi-information display type A. Mine does the same. From the manual: "For vehicles with multi-information display type A: Only the meter panel brightness can be adjusted."
Display type B is more configurable for lighting, maybe someone with an SR5 could confirm?
In the meantime I'll hand back my certificate.

Thanks Bushwalker for your reply what you say makes sense, have seen on you tube whole display dimming different model. Anyway now we know that has anyone soldered in a dimmer pot into the circuit, if I had wiring diagram for dash I should be able to work it out.
