Abs light traction control diff lock off

Abs light traction control diff lock off

Postby Aober8 on Fri, 08 Jan 2021 3:26 +0000

Hi guys

I recently went 4x4 driving and a stick ripped my right side abs wire out in the middle at the diff and now I have a break fault light on abs fault light and traction control fault light. I have fixed it and was wondering if I need to go to Toyota to get the codes removed or I can just remove them else where. my 4x4 switch and diff lock is also not working wondering if it could be cause of the abs lead or something else

Thanks

Did it short and blow one of the fuses that does multiple things if you have a scan reader you should be able to remove the code

the connector in the middle of the diff ( Green , Red , White wires ) is for the electric diff lock , maybe its damaged those wires too.

How did you resolve this? I replaced my diff lock switch at the diff and now have diff lock, traction control and abs lights on my dash. Scanned and shows no codes… any ideas?

Have you tried the simplest thing.
A lot of toyota faults can be cleared simply by disconnecting the battery for 10-15 min then reconnect.

I did similar twice on my 07’ lux but I’ll be dammed if I can remember what I did to clear the code but it was either battery off or a button combo (but I feel like this was to do with the fuel filter issue I had)

I had to change the switch actually on the diff because it was broken.

And yes I left it over night off the battery and the dash lights still showed up the next morning.

Is your diff lock & 4WD also not activating same as the original post? The diff lock is also controlled by the 4WD ECU which has two separate power fuses you could check:
10A "4WD-ALT" in the engine bay fuse compartment, about half way along nearest to corner of the most forward facing edge.
20A "4WD-IGN" well hidden in beside glove box, take the glove box out and there's a black fuse box in the cavity on the left. 3rd fuse up from bottom.
