Can you remove the bank of switches below the heater controls? Can you point me to some links please?
Thanks

Morning bob p,

This video helped me and also to just take your time.

Plus the glove box has to come out, that’s the only thing not explained in this vid.

Can be done with a very thin knife. Just pry them out. You’ll need to be careful not to scratch the plastic around the switch but it’s not too hard.

If you are trying to remove the whole panel it’s a bit more of a pain

The switches can be individually coaxed out of the facia once the heater control panel has been popped off to give you the access behind. It's possible to do that with only your fingers and you won't mark anything. The switch pops out toward you from the back.
You don't need to remove the center console to do it but should remove the instrument cluster surround first as it clips over the edge of the heater control panel.

Hi all. Trouble is there are so many variations in models. I am trying to find out how to access the switch blanks just above the console in my 2018 Hilux Rugged auto. I wish to fit an RJ45 ‘Throughput’ to connect my UHF/mic handset. Everything on the web is pre my model. Any takers? Thanks in advance.
Bob.

Morning bob,

I have a 18’ rugged X and my dash came apart the same as the video link I sent above.

Which should give you access to push the blanks out from behind

Tom.

Thanks Tommo22. My console is quite different to the video in the way it mounts/disassembles and the dash controls vary but I think I might be able to accomplish this task. Thanks for your assistance. Cheers.

Before you get into the dash stuff, have you got a RJ45 housing mount? Most Electrical Wholesalers that deal with data cabling etc will have one, it might look a little like something to go in your house or an office, but it will give you the stability you need when using the mic.
The other thing to look at is that my mic only uses a RJ11 plug, so make sure you get the right housing mount. If you get the right housing mount by having a good look around you might even find one that will fit straight into an unused dash switch hole.
Good luck with it.

This was brilliant. Cheers. The previous owner thought it was a good idea to put the spotlight switch in the centre console, as opposed to the right hand side near the steering wheel. So it's time to move it across.
Having the SR5 means there are no spare blanks in the centre and want to put my RJ45 port in there instead
