Gauge sender locations

Gauge sender locations

Postby 05luxy on Thu, 30 Jan 2020 5:23 +0000

Hi guys,

Wanting to fit some gauges to my 2017 Auto Hilux.

Looking at fitting EGT Transmission Temp and Boost.

Can anyone tell me if there are simply blanking screws i can unscrew and fit my sensors?

Or am i going to need to dill and tap new threads?

Just trying to do some research before i go dropping coin on decent gauges and pillar pod.

I noticed just below the DPF there is a sensor on the exhaust with a bolt just above it would that be where the egt sensor runs?

As for Trans and Boost im at a loss.

Pictures would be fantastic.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You don't want to use a scanguage? It gets all the info from the cars sensors & only needs to plug into the obd port under the steering wheel. It will give you readouts for all the sensors you've asked for.

Silverfox1111,

Is there any coding required or is it just plug and play?

I have and OBD2 reader and downloaded a couple of apps but have to program the sensors you want to read and that got me lost couldn't get the ones i wanted working.

What scanguage would you recommend? and as i said are they just plug and play?

For most of the sensor readout they are in the scanguage out of the box. For others, there is codes required but are easy to put in.

Yeah i have read the instruction manual and read about the x-gauge functions have already downloaded from their site the Toyota codes which look straight forward with step by step instructions of how to set them up.

Thank you for putting me onto this works out cheaper including the windscreen mounting bracket than what the manual gauges and pillar pod was going to cost and has 10 times the amount of functions and data. Really impressed with their product and detailed information.

Not to mention plug and play!!!!

Thank you Silverfox

I've got mine mounted on top of the steering column in front of the gauges.
