Thought I'd share my efforts today, super stoked how it worked out.

Used 2x Holeman 12v LED Strip Lights, 1m length & IP68 rated with 10mm thick silicon cover, marked down $10 each.
Removed the double sided tape and used the heavier duty Gorilla double sided tape. 2x new bonnet mat fixings and placed wires up under the mat, following washer hose down the hinge & under guard molding.
I ran active to a new fuse holder in the accessories fuse box & negative to a micro switch in the front supporting bracketing switching negative with hood. Took about 30mins to install and super stoked with outcome.ImageImageImageImageImage

Hhmmm,
Yep, looks good, but I just had to say ... If I have to open the bonnet at night and I'm gonna need that much light, then I'd check the "Emergency Pillow" is in the back seat and then climb into the canopy for the night.
If it's winter then it's good that the missus doesn't drive, she'll invariably be there to keep me warm.
