I noticed that my double cab has red plastic blanks where the door puddle light should be, in the side pocket of the front doors. On Malaysian spec Fortuners, the light is installed.
I found these 3rd party lights on ebay and was wondering if anyone has figured out where to wire them to. Thanks.

i did my own puddle lights using the cabin light signal... therefore when the limit switch on the door is released they come on. i also put them strip lights in each footwell off the same circuit
