King Harness Spotlights

Postby trueblue_10 on Mon, 25 Dec 2017 6:11 +0000

Hi anyone used the Kings Illuminator LED Driving Light Harness to fit spotlights. What changes did you have to make as the instructions are poor.

We have changed the wiring to suit negative switched Hilux (2011 model) as per the video and all works well when lights turned on.
-Hi beam spotlights come on as they should
- lo beam spotlights turn off as they should

However when headlights are off the spolights will come on unless the spotlight switch is turned off.

Lerroys link didn’t work for me, but I found a YouTube vid the other day that made it sound easy enough.

I couldn’t do it myself, so I cheated and took it to auto elec, which they said that wiring harness :? wasn’t strong enough so they fitted their own.

Letting you all know the final result.

The pdf as per Leroy's post is the instruction to use for Hilux. To get them working correctly you have to run the wire back from the rocker switch under the dash back to the headlight replay terminal.

Take note of step 7 the Kings headlight adapter should be as per factory for this setup for this to work.

I installed the 9'" driving lights today on my new 2018 SR5. Used the HB3 connectors and all worked ok.

Beergutz,
I have the 18 SR5 DC, I used the oval shaped 2 pin adapter as per my head light & it worked as is. I can't use 2x piggy back adapters into each other as I have 9" plus 22" light bar hence 2x harnesses to run. It doesn't work do you or others know why?

Fitting spotties and light bar to ex mine kun26r

Postby Hoffie on Thu, 20 Sep 2018 7:15 +0000

Hey guys first time poster.. having issues wiring in the kings wiring harness up with spotties and light bar to an ex mine kun26r with the auto on lights. I currently have them hooked up on a switch with them working on low beam when switching the stalk to off and turning car off they stay on switching to high beam they turn off. I have watched a YouTube video from kings showing how to swap the harness to negatively switched or something when I do that they operate the correct way when car is off when I turn the car on they wont work at all with the auto headlights has anybody had this issue? If not where can i find this auto lights to disconnect them
Cheers

Hey just hoping i can re-inspire some interest in this thread.
I have an 07 Sr5 and got a 22" kings light bar and when wired up i can switch it on regardless of hi beam/low beam/off. i have played around with the light harness and can get it to work opposite of how i need,(works on low beam and lights off but not on high)
does anyone know if i follow the instructions above if it will work? would like to have switch light as will use hilux switches once i have this sorted, altho i assume i can power from another source
