Glove Box Removal 2016 Hilux SR5

Hi Folks,

Just after some advice as I need to take out my glovebox to get clear access to the firewall grommet to pass some cables through for my UHF.

I gather I have to take off the panel under the glovebox first so am after a bit of advice on how to remove it. After I get that out I think I am pretty right with removing the rest but just wanted any tips that are out there on the panel underneath. Thanks Brian.

Brian if it's similar to the previous model just open the glovebox and pull it up, that is how Toyota did it in the past. Otherwise look in your handbook/owners manual and look under changing the Aircon pollen filter.
Cheers Gipsy :D although I'm sure somebody will challenge that  even Einstein wasn't certain of his theories.

It just pops out. Not sure bout the SRs but the SR5s have a small dampener on the side that you need to unclip aswell.

Hi just adding to above advice about removal there are also two quarter turn thumbscrews in the top part of the glove box you will need to take out before you try & pull on it. Cheers. :)
