Cigarette lighter fuse?

Cigarette lighter fuse?

Postby mategotone on Tue, 20 Dec 2016 8:07 +0000

Hi,

I've got a 2016 SR DC and have just finished hooking up a dual battery system. Along the way though, i somehow shorted a circuit or blew a fuse for the cigarette lighter outlet in the cabin.

I've worked through every fuse in the main box under the hood and both fuse blocks in the passenger foot-well. No blown fuses anywhere.

Anyone got any tips on what else might be the issue? Otherwise it's a trip up to Toyota.

Cheers.

For pre-2015 hiluxes the cig fuse is under the steering wheel... but refer to your hilux manual, all the fuse locations are listed there. It's how i actually found mine.

I popped the cigarette/12v accessory fuse a few times with a dodgy phone charger. It's definitely in the passenger footwell. Slide the panel out underneath the glovebox lid and you should find it. From memory it's labelled as accessory in the fuse diagram and was the only 15amp jn the area, but I might be wrong.

Hi. Which panel do you remove? Is the above for a 2016? You say remove the panel under the glove box, which one is that exactly? There is a lower and an upper glovebox. Thank you. Much appreciated.

More detail for your 2016, it's the black panel / cover underneath the dash that covers over the footwell area e.g. covers the area immediately above the passengers feet....and the space where your head will now need to be when you lay upside down on your back and look up.

The black cover unclips simply by individually pressing each the 3 small tabs facing you on the edge. Note it's got a locating post on the rear RHS when you put it back

The fun part

The fuse box is a white plastic rectangular block toward the side, it's cover will facing down at you while you are wriggling and grimacing looking up at it.

The cover includes the fuse layout diagram, if it's the 12V power socket you are chasing the one you are interested in is "15A P/OUTLET NO.1"

The cover unclips and swings down to expose the fuses.

Enjoy...
