Hi all

Am starting to get a few projects such as UHF and compressor to install. Wanted to know if there is a better way than taking the active all the way back to the battery.

I do not mind if the ignition is on or not, just do not want yo have to run through the firewall everytime. If there anywhere that i can piggy back from within the cab and if so could i get part numbers and photos

Bit of an auto electrics newbie so any help would be great

I piggy backed my UHF to the ciggi lighter power supply.

For UHF and low power devices you can just tap into the cig plug or use a fuse tap. You can also run a fuse block into the console area to keep the wiring clean and neat.

Compressor sucks a lot of juice so your gonna need to run dedicated thick gauge cables straight from the battery.

Run a 8g cable with with a 50amp short stop breaker, once through the fire wall, then use a narva 54446bl

By use to this if the time ever arises that you require more then 50amps run a second 8g with a second short stop breaker
They also make it in a 12 way box but I've never required it
I also install a relay between the the twin inputs, with the acc to trigger so you have battery power acc, for when you need more then 7-10amps draw

Awesome stuff, yea wasnt to keen on putting the conpressor onto the cig.

The fuse box seems the way to go, i want to run some camping lights to a switch and that will make it easier. Any ideas on where to mount the narva fuse box

Behind the rear seat is a common spot, possible in the kick panel
