Ignition wire for dual battery

Ignition wire for dual battery

Postby Flacky99 on Thu, 15 Sep 2016 7:09 +0000

Hi guys,
Just wondering if anyone has installed a dual battery system that has required you to wire it to ignition. If so where did you wire it too on an Sr 2016 hilux. I have looked in the fuse box under the bonnet. The next step was to looks at the ignition barrel. But thought there would be an ignition fuse somewhere.
Thanks in advance

Cheers

On sr5 there is a fuse box behind the passenger kick panel (pull out the glovebox) there are 2 spare spots at the very bottom. Not sure if it's the same on the Sr. I got "piggyback fuses" on eBay to plug into them.

Hey mate,

I have the glove box out and am looking for the spare fuse ypur referring too. I assume it's the fuse box with 3J on the bottom in the passenger side kick panel?

I got the sr5 and all mine have fuses in them. There are several which indicate IGN. Can tell me if this is it? If so which is the one you used?

Thanks

Toyzx,

I'm at the stage above I got the blade fuse wire adapter too. I found the fuse box as per your picture. Which fuse did you actually end up sticking it in?

Once the adapter is in I assume the cover will no longer fit?

The 25amp one in the first pic. Can remember what it does, I usually just pick a non vital one like power windows or seat heater or something.
