Turning off seat belt chime

Postby offtothecape on Tue, 07 Jun 2016 3:27 +0000

Hey Guys I know this has been covered before in other posts but I can't seem to find anything relating to the Gen 8.
How do you turn off that annoying seat belt chime in a 2016 SR ????
Any help would be greatly appreciated..

Would love to hear about this also. Perhaps getting the chime to Bugger off when I'm reversing with the door open too.. You know when you're backing in a trailer and have a peek back out the door!!

need a scan tool or get a "willing" toyota dealer to do it when they connect up their computer. I bought a OBDlink scan tool to do it, but I can't figure out how.

I believe the forum you are looking for that someone else was talking about it, was about the Headlight sensitivity.

I have the genuine tool. Im not to sure if other ones are able to do it. If they are it will be in customizable tab. The ones you buy at supercheap repco etc wont do it as they only read DTC.

Lane change indicators on these new ones? Nice.
Spent 3 months in the UK, using this system, and liked it.

A big thanks to Pirate Pete for turning off that annoying seatbelt chime.
He also showed me a few other things I didn't know and gave me the run down on catch cans.
I will definitely be getting one of those.
Once again thanks Pete, and as I said if you want any stickers done send me a PM.
Nice Guy..

Piratepete, I live on the south side of Brisbane and will gladly pay you to disable the seat belt and door open alarms on my new 2017 Hilux. Please let me know if you are interested. Thanks

I would be interested in this meet up. I live on acreage and sometimes don't put my belt on and that sound drives me crazy. I live on the northwest of Brisbane and will meet anywhere it is convenient to you.

Hey Pete

Can you shed some light on this for me please.

Ive heard that disconnecting the seat belt warning , tells the system that no one is in that seat and hence airbags for those seats won't deploy.

Now, i understand you are by passing it by using a "tool", However, i don't know if the above scenario was done by someone simply unplugging something and there could be a difference.

I too find it annoying, placing something on the rear seats and having the lights/ buzzers go off

PS..... Have used you light intensity adjustment.........Brilliant!!
