Hey Fellas,

It seems there is no info on dual battery setups/alternator type for the new 2016 hilux's on here. Below is what what was sent to me by Redarc regarding the new Hilux Alternator.

Hi Joel, thank you for your enquiry regarding your new Hilux battery system.

Nice truck, we just picked up a new one for our QLD state rep as well.

The alternator is a temperature compensating type, the voltage will reduce once the engine is warm from a standard 14.0v to approx.: 13.2v.

The BCDC1220 or BCDC1225 in vehicle battery charger is recommended for all single auxiliary battery systems, No ignition is required for this model.

I have attached a pdf to provide a little more information.

Wouldn't the use of the ignition type ensure that the bcc charger doesn't drain the starter battery while the vehicle is off?

Not sure what was meant by the Redarc guy saying that but they all have an input for ignition. That what im hunting through the forums for, an easy spot to tap into for ignition input.
