Guys,

New to the forum just bought a hilux a few weeks ago. Love it.

Already taken it on the beach. When leaving had to wait about 30 minutes in line to pump up the tyres so I have bought a ARB compressor, just wondering if any one has installed one yet. Looking for locations as I am going to put a duel battery system in.

Next to no room in the engine bay. Dual battery takes up the only large area

Hi This will work for dual cabs only.
Push both front seats all the way forward, lift both parts of the 60/40 seat cushions & clip them back to the headrests then take out five restraining bolts that hold in the back seat you do not need to remove the seat assembly ( just push up vertically towards the roof lining to unclip the restraining lugs do not try to pull it forward till you clear the lugs) from the vehicle just move it forward against the back of the front seats there is now enough room to work, you need to unclip the seat belt clips where they attach to the cushions even the centre belt can be unclipped by locating a special lock clip with a red button on the side of it down near the floor carpet I put my compressor on the right hand side of the white box that contains centre belt retractor there is a stack of room there I bolted mine to a piece of 3mm gal plate
then screwed the plate to vehicle with 6mm hex head self tappers you may also have to place some spacers( I found 4 10 mm nuts just right) under the plate because there is a raised rib there & some rubber packing under it to reduce vibration & noise, attach a short piece of air hose to compressor & lock it on with good quality screw or crush fit clips
must be able to hold on because they will be exposed to around 100 psi on the other end fit air break away fittings as you would any air compressor . Now connect your air hose with tyre fittings & you are done . For the power supply I have merit sockets fitted to the front ( under bonnet & rear underneath on my tow bar) put a merit plug on it & you are done.
You could also run a power socket direct to it If you wanted.

Hey,
Has anyone fitted this mounting bracket to suit the ARB compressor in the engine bay (RHS opposite to Battery Side). I did a similar install on my last Gen 7 Hilux but now someone is selling a kit!

Would be pleased to hear as mounting under rear seats is a PITA when you have kids and need to re-inflate tyres coming of sand!
My last set up under the engine bay worked well
Les

Acknowledging that I have a 2013 not 2016 model, but it should install the same, I got the local welding shop to make me up a aluminium box which was installed under the tray, with the compressor fitting coming out next to the rear licence plate; I got Enzed to supply the fittings rather than the ARB ones as it gave me much better options for accessories. I would highly recommend this solution, it is out of the way and I haven't had any issues after travelling through many water crossings and a lot of off-roading around the country. I made a hole for the filter, so that sits outside the box so the compressor gets plenty of fresh air; it was a bit of a hassle to design and I would probably make it a bit different next time, but it only cost me less than $100 to be made and its been working without fault for over three years now. Having it mounted outside the cabin means that it is also very convenient for pumping up everything from blow up pools to bicycle tyres when its parked at home.
