I've just bought a steering knuckle from them, half the price of genuine local even with freight, took 5 days to get here.
And the $100 of gaskets to do EGR and manifold clean? $14....

Has anyone measured the distance between the caliper mount lugs? If you someone could tell me the distance between the lugs it would be very helpful for me. I need to do a brake upgrade on a different Toyota and if the lugs match i can use this caliper. Rotor size is a match.

I still have the calipers I pulled off my 2011 and can measure those for you? Will be the same spacing as 2012-15 Hilux, 120 or 150 'cruiser and TRD Hilux.

Holes are 12mm, using Verniers the inside measurement is 116mm, outside is 140mm. So with 12mm holes that means hole centres are 128mm.

Note these are 2011 calipers, same back to 2005, are used with 15" wheels with 255/70/15 on SR5 and 16" wheels with 205R16 tyres.

I upgraded to 120 Series calipers and rotors (same as TRD Hilux) and those calipers bolted straight up. I believe the 2012-2015 calipers off the 17" wheel cars are the same hole centres too, and also 150 Series although they use thicker rotors than 120 Series (but same diameter and offset).

Dear HK1837, Thanks a a lot! I am planning to do a caliper swap from a feeble single piston sliding caliper to this 4 pot opposed piston type. I will post the results here, if its successful will be of help to others too.

I'd be wary as it isn't an original combination, and probably will need Engineering. This is why I like the 120 'cruiser upgrade as it replicates the 2009 TRD.

Hi guys, great post and thanks for all of the info!

I'm on the hunt for a set of 120 calipers now to to upgrade my 2007 Hilux, just out of interest has anyone looked into if the rear Prado disc assembly with fit up to the Hilux diff housing?

Unless you are confident putting a kit through them just buy new aftermarket. You do need the 120 Series backing plates though, so hopefully the car you get them off has the calipers there as well if you want to rebuild some..
Do some research on 150 Series as well, same rotors but 3mm thicker, calipers may be the same, or if not use the whole 150 Series caliper and rotor.

I wouldn’t bother with rear discs, lots of work for no gain on a commercial vehicle. Will have a compromised handbrake and will need all new master cyl, rear prop valve, possibly ABS changes plus Engineering with lots of expensive tests.

From memory, I think its best to use 120 calipers as using the 150 calipers will require a larger master cylinder.

At least with the 120 calipers, we know it works but importantly, they were used by Toyota on the TRD hilux which retained the hilux master cylinder.

Here is an example of someone trying 150 calipers:

Just did this to my 06 GGN25R hilux(V6 4wd auto).
Hardest part was finding the prado dust shields. Wreckers don't want to pull apart a prado hub to get 1.
Cost me $1500 nz all up to have some one do this for me using brembo disks & pads.
Much better braking, but now my rears really need doing.
TRD hilux has the some boster as the donor vehicle. The V6 hilux.
I mite look at putting in the prado boster if I still dont like my pedal feel after i have the rears looked at.

Just thinking out loud here. But has anyone looked at the rear breaks from a fortuner?
There more like a hilux then a prado. Pretty sure there the same wheel track.

Not sure why you'd want to, but I have heard it can be done. Probably FJ Cruiser rear brakes. Lot more stuffing around though and the drums are more than adequate for a 4x4.

My pedal is a bit soft too with the TRD/120 'cruiser rotors and calipers. Ken at Ultimate reckoned an 80 series 'cruiser double diaphragm booster would probably just about bolt in, but you'd have to get them side by side and compare. I might duck down to the local 4x4 wrecker and put a Hilux one next to other Toyotas and see what comes close, they might be like Holdens where the only difference is the pushrod and you just get it built using the right pushrod.

HK1837 Did you have any luck with a bigger booster?

I'm with you HK1837. It would be good IF, its good but I'd be scared to risk loosing vacuum on the roads.

I've got a 4 bolt 80ser one might try and see if the holes line up with the firewall if so I'll try and find a 2 bolt and check if the brake master fits. If it does work I'm not sure what to do about the vacuum switch that hilux booster has and the 80 doesnt?
