my v6 with tyres deflated floats along nicely in 2nd gear, and this was with the factory highway tyres(have been alot of places and they didnt get a flat/a steaking or anything, closest thing was a stick in the bead lock which was fixed in minutes.)
if it gets abit thick put some more revs into it, without using the clutch to much, she usualy will pull back up 2 speed without any issues or just run in first, tho as you i take it first seems like rather high rpms for net result and 2nd would seem more eco'.
Ive yet to haver her stall or anything that low in revs when driving on the beach/sand, try to use the clutch as little as possible to avoid anything happening to the weak pos, and should be right.
