2013 sr5 auto service

Postby hilux4x4x3 on Thu, 16 Jul 2020 11:12 +0000

It’s probably been done a thousand times, but I can’t find it.
Can anyone tell me what the model number is for a 4 speed auto in an August 2013 build hilux sr5. Just want to get the right bits before a service, eg filters , auto trans fluid etc.
Thanks Jeff.

I have a 4 speed SR5 and the dealer told me there in no kit for it, they have just a screen and no internal adjustment and said all you can do is wash out the screen if you really want to do something.
I contacted penrite and talked to them, they agreed that the fluid cant last forever and suggested draining and filling it a few times with their full synthetic fluid seeing that suspended particals is the second biggest killer of transmission fluid after over heating.
Seeing that I already fitted a cooler I put a Cooper WTF1 inline transmission filter in the cooler circuit and drained the sump and refilled every second day 3 times till the fluid was bright red, drain it after it has sat over night and you will get about 4 litres each time. I change the filter every 20k. Flushed the first filter into paper towel with contact cleaner and tiny shiny bits were easily visable.
Now every 50k I just drop out 4 litres and replace it just to keep it freshish.
