Tacoma CV axles

Postby AmeriKUN26 on Mon, 08 Jun 2020 12:39 +0000

Hello all, I've used the search and found a lot of unfinished conversations on the topic.

I'm in the US and have access to many CV axles for the Tacoma. From what I gather they are 10mm longer than the Lux ones and have the same 30/30 spline count.

Does anyone know if the Tacoma CVs will fit my 08 KUN26 without issues? I have 2" of lift and was hoping they would be a drop in fit.

Just looking to save a boatload on shipping costs and have more options, Thanks!

Its a good question... 10mm longer shouldnt be a problem as long as you get bo binding of the tripod (pushing the tripod into the diff) through the suspension cycle.

I guess your best option is to get one and see if you have any issues. I hope it works but I have some doubts as we can't run the CVs out of prados and FJs as while everything looks similar, it isnt.
I might be wrong.

Thanks, if no one chimes in I'll take some measurements at the auto parts store when I get them removed and reply to this post so it'll be here for anyone searching it in the future.

That would be great.

For info, this thread from a while back talked about RCV doing some specific hilux CVs so maybe there are differences...

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
