2008 hilux jumping out of gear

We have a 2008 manual hilux KUN26 jumping out of 1st, 3rd and 5th. 2nd, 4th and reverse are all good. First thought was the bush at the bottom of the gearstick in the selectors (but it is good). Has anyone had this issue? Any thoughts on the short drive from Katherine to Brisbane before we fix it?

All the gears you mentioned are in the forward position is a gear stick binding on something which stops it going right into gear also check if the gear stick has been bent on the bottom half which will stop it selecting properly how long since the gearbox has been serviced

Check your transmission (and engine) mounts, as well as your subframe assembly.. Check that all the mounting points are sound and secure.
