mine is beginning to slip more often, hill starts particularly in reverse are a no go, i have recently put 31" tyres on, will this void my warranty, it hardly ever tows and goes off-road (light stuff) maybe once a month, have a full Toyota service history too.....

What are the chances of a warranty replacement, only got a few months to go until it runs out....
Cheers, Ryan

hey there d4d,get it in there now mate, they should do it for you no dramas, mine was only slipping a little bit at the start, but i think because its such a known problem, they will get onto it straight away, just tell them its slipping and they have to look at it,your tyres wont void your warranty, ive got 265/75/16s,tow a big ass trailer evryday, and there wasnt a problem,
cheers burty.

I have only been on sand once. I stopped on the beach at little dip. Went to take off and the wheels were not spining. With the lux only done 32,000. I was not too happy. But I do have 265/75/16. So my warranty is up shit creek, with my clutch if it decides to slip again. But low range 1st gear I did get out. Is there a different style of driving I can use to prolong this problem? Especially for towing?

Mines still going on the original clutch, 2005 model with 126,XXXkms running 31" ud tyres, does plenty of towing and heavy work being on a farm. Although saying this it is feeling a bit soft, especially noticeable after driving another vehicle and getting back into the hilux. Wont bother with toyota clutch, just get an excedy :D

My clutch hasn't died but it is being replaced at 5000kms because it has shuddered from day one.

They tell me it will take three weeks to come from Japan. I thought they were built in Thailand? Can't believe they don't have one in Aust. with the amount of failures they have.

I've had mine re-built, but not replaced. cactus throw out bearing. Started chiming and squealing just sitting there idling. but now it takes up pretty late, and if pushed, will slip. Also has a bit of a shudder at times.

How dissapointing is the hilux clutch? and no warrantee.I swaped mine out for $1350.A lot cheaper than the crap origional. Why would you replace it with the same thing after trveling 60 thousand..More suited I recon for a dirt bike.

Here we go AGAIN :x

Got our clutch replaced at just under 70,000 kilometers due to a clicking sound at the end of the pedal travel.....not form slipping or anything else, just a slight click.

Now at just under 90,000 kilometers we have a bit of clutch slip in 3rd gear under load and it gets worse with a bit of heat.

Why have we got 70,000 kilometers out of the first one with no slippage and the new 20,000 kilometer one is starting to slip :?:

Thank god it's still under warranty for another 18 months.

Just did my first clutch at 5,000km. I had to fight hard with the dealer to go to Toyota in order to cover it under warranty as they claimed it was due to "excessive use" that the plate had 50% ware and burn marks on the fly wheel (I think  ).

New clutch went in today, and feels very different to the first one, so lets hope for the best.

i had been complaining to my local toyota dealer about a noise coming from my clutch, was told they would replace the thrust bearing at the next service, had my 50,000k service yesterday when i picked it up they told me they replaced the whole clutch on warranty.
