Hi guys
New to this forum as thinking of purchasing a hilux !
It's a 2014 hilux sr5 auto !!
1 owner ! Great looking truck !
Took it for a test drive today and my only concern
Is that when I take off I feel a slight shudder in first gear only and tilonly till
About 2000 revs !!!

It has a had a 2 inch lift !
I am not that mechanical minded but looking to learn as this will be my first decent truck
The truck is great ticks all the boxes of what I'm looking for !
Yet the sudder has got me thinking !!
The bloke reckons it might be the universal joints in the tail shaft coz of the lift
But I'm after a second opinion !!

Could it be the transmition ?

More than likely just from the lift man! If it's sitting a little tall in the rear cos it has no weight on it then ya will sometimes get a shudder. Probably just needs some wedges put in the rear end.

I've read a few other forums that have also come across this similar problem !!
Is it anything to worry about as I read that none have actually addressed this issue !

My old man has a 2012 hilux sr5 auto and does not have any shutter at all !!

I fit suspension for a living, some do it some don't! Mate of mine has had a sudder in his for a couple of years now and no issues.

Hey Mate, Ive had a 2014 SR5 auto dual cab since new. No lift kit and no mods apart from new tyres. Car shudders coming to a stop and take off but not all the time. Car has now done 40,000 and been back to Toyota several times. Not a huge hassle and they seem to think its tailshaft shudder. Just annoying but have heard it can happen. Hoping if i bug them every few thousand and document it during warranty it will help later.
