Is the Blusteele HD clutch any good?

Postby Daniel190 on Sun, 12 Mar 2017 11:22 +0000

Just wanted to see if anyone here is running a blusteele heavy duty clutch in their hilux and if its worth buying or if I should just stick with someone like exedy or xtreme.

I would be interested in this also, they now offer a kit that includes a flywheel to change from a 260diameter clutch
to the larger one from 7/2008 onwards

I've had a blusteele HD clutch kit with flywheel for 2 years and done 45,000km with it in. Honestly it's a fantastic clutch kit, cannot fault it at all and would buy again in a heartbeat. Running 33s and car weighs 2.5T

I had the clutch done in my car yesterday. It is a 2012 SR5, the original clutch had 250,000km on it, I have owned the car since new.

I wanted a Exedy Safari Tuff clutch, and I was talked out of it since I don’t tow anything heavy nor do I do any serious off-roading in it, so I went with the Exedy OEM replacement.

It comes down to what you want to do with the car, if it is an off its head rig, yes, then go for the heaviest duty clutch you can get, same if your towing big loads all the time. Whilst it might give you the warm fuzzies knowing that you have a clutch kit that can stand the utmost punishment, are you going to use it for what it is designed for?
