Hi there
I have the following problems with my touch screen in my 2014 SR5, where I can't use the buttons in left bottom corner of the screen, in any of the menus.
Will a power reset fix it?
Please let me know if anyone else has seen this problem
Thanks

I had issues with 14 SR touch screen, got it replaced last service. Same same, bottom of the screen didn't work. They offered to swap it out before even looking at it. Seems a pretty common issue.

Having the same problems with the lower right hand side of mine, dealer did a software update but no better.
Seems to happen as soon as screen warms up after about 5-10mins of driving. Taking back to dealer this week hopefully they will replace it.
Borishilux was you're head unit doing it all the time?

Not sure if it's the same unit as the 13
But they ordered a replacement before mine even left the dealer (it wouldn't hook up to my phone)
Just take it back

I have had a different problem with my Hilux, it is also a 2014 Hilux. The whole unit turns off when using my iPod via the USB slot or Bluetooth and an error code pops up. I will be taking it in as it is still under warranty and I have informed the dealer and it is still under the 150,000 km or 3 year warranty (have just hit 51,400 km and it is 2 years old bought at beginning of 2015). Anyone got any ideas on what might be causing the problem as the dealer has no idea what is going on.

I have the same problem....again. Getting my second stereo replacement next week and then my warranty runs out.
Sounds like a common problem

@PaulC glad to hear I'm not the only one who had this problem. After 2nd stereo replacement has the problem been resolved? Did the dealer explain why this occurs? The blokes over here were pretty clueless.

They were clueless at toyota yeppoon. Think they are trained to be clueless so they can't tell us stuff they don't want us to know. He said the stereo is made by Fujitsu and they will put some form into toyota about the problem. The problem now for me is I'm out of warranty and what if it happens again? Sure they will wipe there hands of it. If it was a safety issue it would be a recall strait away

Hi.
Would anyone know where I could get a touchscreen from? Anyone have one of these secondhand in their collection? :D
Our screen was damaged.
Toyota dealership sent us direct to the Adelaide company they use for replacing them.
We were told it would cost approx $200-$300.
After it was taken out and sent off somewhere else, then we were told prob $600-ish
When it came back we were then told the screen couldn't be replaced. It wasn't one where we could replace just the screen, and would cost just under $2000 for an aftermarket.
Another Toyota dealer then told us it could be replaced for $600, so we got our head unit back and went back to the other Toyota Dealer, who apologised as they had read it wrong. It's $6000 for a new Toyota one.
All we need is the screen. Everything works behind the screen but the touchscreen is smashed.
Would anyone know where I can get a secondhand touchscreen for an early 2015 hilux?
We can't even get it to connect to the phone anymore cause the touchscreen doesn't work so can't set it up with the new phone. Can still use the radio via the steering wheel controls.

Regards,
Laksam

I'm having my 2014 Hilux stereo replaced under warranty but I was surprised when the dealer told me there will be a wait as they haven't got a spare unit to replace mine until another refurbished one is available. Why are they using refurbished items under warranty, should i except a refurbished unit?

Thread revival.

2014 sr5.

I am having trouble with the bottom of my touch screen, having trouble using the navigation, so thought I would look it up here. Damn. Looks like, from what has happened to the posters here, that a replacement screen will be needed. I was just going to ask if anyone knew how to recalibrate it.

Has anyone had it replaced after warranty is finished and how much did it cost?

Judging by the previous posts Toyota uses refurbished units probably because the original units are no longer available. Possibly because the original unit had issues. Also, if the problem is identified as a bad semiconductor or similar, a replacement with a better quality semiconductor would be the answer. Many electronic units particularly made in China use inferior semiconductors such as capacitors etc. and if they are replaced with better quality, the unit works better than original. That may explain Toyota's use of refurbished units.

Thanks Gypsy, I am sure you have explained the answer but talk of semiconductors and capacitors is above my paygrade.

Are you saying I should get the touch screen replaced or the whole head unit? (Provided it can't be fixed by recalibrating the touch screen)
