Just a quick one, rang ARB to enquire about a front locker install and they said they need it for a minimum of two days. I asked them why two days (my cruiser was a about half a day). He then said "we won't know what locker model to use until we pull it out cause the ratios could be two different types, an RD121 or RD111."

This answer hasn't inspired confidence in me about their services.

Is the ratio thing true or is this more ARB money making bullshit?

Auto and manual have different ratios. Still they should know that.

I got an eaton locker and all they needed was the rear ratio to match with year and sr or sr5 Job Done.

Deffer if you din't mind me asking how much was the e-locker installed and who did you go through? Front or rear? And finally do you rate it?

Hi I have both front and rear done they were about $1550.00 each fitted and highly recommend them can be bought from Ironman no need to wait for air and can engage on the run so long as you back throttle off flick switch and foot down again .better than waiting for air to build then engage I have compressor fitted as well but purely for tyres.Hope this helps.

That seems a good price for e-lockers fitted, where'd you get them done?

I had inside help on purchase price and I own a tilt tray truck so do work for the guys who installed them for me so they looked after me on fitting price .

ARB going to be offering 5 year warranty on all airlocker installs shortly.

Wonder if that 5 years is offered to anyone who has already had them fitted recently

These genuine Eaton part? Seems very cheap as I was quoted from OL $1450 supplied and another $700 fitted just for the front.

What Ironman shop?

Like I said had inside help on price from Senior Exec at ironman and front was fitted for $300.00 and yes genuine eaton . However I did do the wring Myself they just did the actual fitting off units the rear cost slightly more as he changed the crush washer I think it was called and fitted solid so if pinion seal leaked I could change without pulling diff apart .

Saved yourself $1500+.... jealous!

Out of interest how much was each e locker?

From memory $1250.00 each that's with some staff Discount

Hi guys, just wanted to clarify a couple of things here… Not sure about ELockers, but Air Lockers can definitely be engaged when moving. This can be at any speed, even during cornering. The only requirement is to lift off the throttle for a split second as you hit the button.

Re having to wait for air to build up, this isn't the case. You can literally flick the compressor switch when you first hit the tracks and then leave it on until you're finished. That way, the compressor is always pressurised and you simply hit the locker switch when you want to engage it/them for near instant activation.

The new 5 year warranty is available for all lockers purchased on or after July 1st, 2013.

Hi Alby, the warranty extension follows of a range of updates (highlighted by our new 2 piece design and forged gears) that have been progressively rolled out to the Air Locker range and that are now available across all Air Locker models.

This means that all models of Air Locker now benefit from the latest in design and engineering.
